"Cycle" 48'x48" diptych

This piece is hanging in Wild Holly gallery in Carefree, Az The surface of this piece is much smoother to the touch than other works. I used a different technique to achieve the smooth texture, it is very time consuming therefore only a couple of pieces are made each year. This piece is available in Wild Holly Gallery Carefree Az.

"Castaways" 48"x48"

"Castaways" Is a newer look using the same techniques. The piece was created in Rancho Mirage, Ca in 90 degree heat. I love the way colors react in higher temps.

Last Bench

I had made quite a few of these and they have just become to much to bring to my shows. This one I made as I had the base and had enough plywood to create just one more. They are very special being that I have never seen anyone making something quite like it. They are of the same recycled materials as all my work. I posted this unfinished photo of the bench I needed to savor the moment.

Sold

"Casting Shadows" 36"x60"

"Shelter" This was by far on of the more difficult works I have created. The weather was very cold outside and the studio was like a freezer, therefore my colors react different than if it was 85 outside. I should have named it "Struggle" as I had to fight with the colors. I had given up for the day but just knowing it was sitting in the studio in need of some care I could not sleep. I went back into the studio at around 1:30 am and began working on the piece. It was amazing how fast it was began to react, like it just needed a little more attention. Sometimes they say you have to walk away for a minute, well it was so true in this case.

Train-Hopping II 28" x 30"

"Train-Hopping II" Follows on the heels of a piece that I had created about two years ago. It breaks rules in the world of art, being that it is divided in the center? Who comes up with such rules. The willow comes from the banks of the Truckee River in California. I love the organic colors and the willow was a natural for me to apply in this work. Rules are made to be broken.

"Four Steps

"Four Steps" is a first for me. Since I use recycled materials in my work I had quite a few small pieces of wood that I use in frame construction. I just kept collecting these small pieces of wood.
I had found shards of masonite that looked useless then realized I might utilize them in smaller pieces. I then measured what I had to make sure that the pieces were uniform and came up with 12"x12" work. It is so named "Four Steps" following the many steps it had taken me to create these four small pieces of art. Available in Mono council of the arts gallery Mammoth Lakes, Ca
