A note from a client
Just hung the new art and it looks fabulous! It’s hanging in my Master bedroom versus the Great Room where I had intended it originally. It’s simply so calming, peaceful and soothing that I decided it was better placed in my Master where it’s that last thing I see at night & the first thing in the morning. It’s truly a wonderful piece … thanks so very, very much.

"Life's Run was created over the past three weeks.Wednesday, March 31, 2010
These are from the Lung-Ta block (Windhorse). This block was carved in Tibet 250 years ago. If you look closely you can see the Windhorse, carrying the 3 jewels of the Buddha. The Buddha, Buddha teachings and Buddhist community. This was used to print prayer flags. I shall post various colors of each.

"Untitled" 36"x48"
I should name this 4:30 AM!!!!!! That is when I began the coloring process and finally finished it at 9:30 PM. rarely do I have to work some many colors into my work. I wanted 4 very distinct bands of color that played off of each other. I had to start out very light then added as I went along. I love the separation that you see and the way the color mingles in and out of each other. The zinc used as the serpentine border gives a sensual feel that preoccupies the senses. "Untitled" 36"x60"
I had used old grape stakes as part of the framing on this untitled piece. I wanted to work in green hues only and kept layering the colors. I needed to stop myself knowing the rich colors really come out during the sealing process. I only have a rough concept of what I want to create, the work it self begins to reveal itself as if it has a life of it's own or a story it wants to tell.

These represent the spiritual side of the art I create. They are made on a piece of recycled redwood and measure 6"x24". This particular set is imprinted using a old wooden block that was used for printing Tibetan prayer books. The mantra Thursday, March 4, 2010
"Time Change"

"Time Change" is the second piece of its kind, It measures 60"x60" and it's base is 2"rigid foam insulation that I collected from a home being remodeled. Some of implements used for the design were found in the parking lot of the Cal Neva casino in North Shore lake Tahoe when they to were in the midst of a remodel.

"Cycle" 48'x48" diptych
This piece is hanging in Wild Holly gallery in Carefree, Az The surface of this piece is much smoother to the touch than other works. I used a different technique to achieve the smooth texture, it is very time consuming therefore only a couple of pieces are made each year. This piece is available in Wild Holly Gallery Carefree Az.

Last Bench
I had made quite a few of these and they have just become to much to bring to my shows. This one I made as I had the base and had enough plywood to create just one more. They are very special being that I have never seen anyone making something quite like it. They are of the same recycled materials as all my work. I posted this unfinished photo of the bench I needed to savor the moment.
"Casting Shadows" 36"x60"
"Shelter" This was by far on of the more difficult works I have created. The weather was very cold outside and the studio was like a freezer, therefore my colors react different than if it was 85 outside. I should have named it "Struggle" as I had to fight with the colors. I had given up for the day but just knowing it was sitting in the studio in need of some care I could not sleep. I went back into the studio at around 1:30 am and began working on the piece. It was amazing how fast it was began to react, like it just needed a little more attention. Sometimes they say you have to walk away for a minute, well it was so true in this case.
Train-Hopping II 28" x 30"
"Train-Hopping II" Follows on the heels of a piece that I had created about two years ago. It breaks rules in the world of art, being that it is divided in the center? Who comes up with such rules. The willow comes from the banks of the Truckee River in California. I love the organic colors and the willow was a natural for me to apply in this work. Rules are made to be broken.
"Four Steps
"Four Steps" is a first for me. Since I use recycled materials in my work I had quite a few small pieces of wood that I use in frame construction. I just kept collecting these small pieces of wood.

"Subtle Hint"

This piece I had worked on for just under two weeks, the color kept evading me as if the piece was challenging me to go further. I had to step away from it several times fearing that I might go to far,but knowing I had not gone far enough. The color revealed itself to me after many side strokes of color. What you and I have before us is truly a precious work of art my heart and soul comes out through this work

"Waking"

"Waking" Was hung in a home in Newport Beach, Ca. The piece was shown at Mammoth Lakes Labor art show for the first time and was taken home that weekend. It was the first of this style for me and I have continued to created pieces in this genre for the past two years. I love this style of work and I hope you enjoy the work as much as I do.

"Gathering"
I had just completed this piece and what had surprised me was the change of colors. The upper half of the work I used a color "copper patina" this was to give me green and aqua hues, and over night I got these hues of brown and tans. This was not intended to happen, and I have no idea why this occurred. I wish I did, I love the way the green and aqua peak through the mist. I thought of a Gathering storm looking out over a vista.
